On September 24, 2011 Amanda was sealed for all time and eternity to James Hansen in the Oakland Temple. Amanda met James in Utah while he was doing security for the job site next to Rite-Aid(where she works). James' family came out from Utah and New York. Some family friends came out also for the occasion. James' best friend Sean was his best man, while Will, Jeff and Louie were the groomsmen. Melissa was the matron of honor while Amy, Jessica, Celeste and Sarah Jane were her bridesmaids. Rachel was her flower girl and even Bailey was dressed for the occasion. GG and Pops brought Rachel and Bailey up to the Temple when we came out so they could all be in the pictures also.
We are pleased to have James added to our family and enjoyed getting to know him and his family more. We had so much help with the reception decorations put up by Kathy Ritchie and the food and cake were prepared by Kili Crandall, Don Jocius making sure all the tables, chairs, sprinklers turned off and lights on the building were taken care of and all the table clothes were donated for use from Dalene Scott. We could not have done the reception without the help of our ward family. Many stayed to help clean up after wards so we were not there all night.
Amanda and James went to South Lake Tahoe for a week for their honeymoon. They stayed their wedding night and the next in Santa Cruz at the Dream Inn over looking the ocean. They returned back a day early and opened their gifts before they had to fly back to Utah.
They had a reception in Utah at the Lion House in Salt Lake City 2 weeks later and it was such a wonderful reception. We were able to meet many of James' Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and ward family. Our friends the Shupe's live in Utah now and James, Jimmy, Amanda and Justin all played their fiddles and guitar for part of the music. We were able to watch Amanda and James open their gifts after the reception and their apt. They received many wonderful gifts.
